Due to the corona crisis, it has become necessary to keep 1,5 meters away. There are divisions, warnings, new house rules and one-way streets everywhere in society. The communication about this is very visual. That is a major obstacle for people with a visual impairment.
Make it visible and tangible
People with a visual impairment also want to continue to participate in society as independently as possible. The most important message is: make routes, markings and separations clearly visible and tangible. This prevents collisions and trips. Bartiméus, Koninklijke Visio, the Robert Coppes Foundation and the Eye Association jointly published "Practical Tips" for shops, the catering industry, other companies and (cultural) institutions for the design of an accessible 1.5 meter society.
